Having spent over three weeks here now, I can confirm that I definately made the right decision in taking a voluntary accountancy role.
The challenges are varied, exciting, and thats just trying to find dinner!!
I am based at Sharana in Pondicherry who celebrated their 10 year anniversary in August. As the first chartered accounted to voilunteer here I have been charged with setting up a social enterprise in order to sell goods provided by the villages supported by Sharana. The staff are great fun, very supportive and although the road is long I hope to have gone a good way towards helping to set up the retail side of Sharana before I leave in late January.
Well, theres another pot of Chai at the ready, so thats all for now... but watch this space for future entries!
